Magic Eye

When your bored and have nothing to do, what do you do? Go to your computer, phone, or television. I was doing one of these things surfing the internet and decided to look up magic eye puzzles. Can't ever go wrong there right?
This puzzle proved me wrong, just solve it and you'll see why.

This made me think about all the time that we waste. Every minute counts, those times when you go to a movie that has really good commercials and guess what they gave away every good part and all your thinking is, "Man... what a waste of ten dollars." you really should be thinking, "Man... what a waste of an hour and a half. I only have so many of those.

We are lucky to have time, not everyone is. We should spend it wisely.

Cheerleading

To me cheerleading has been something I've always done. When I was seven years old my parents started signing up me for any sport I was old enough to join. Cheerleading was the only one that has stuck. It has been 9 years and I'm in the middle of my 14th season.

It has always been really fun for me. I used to be really shy, I think part of the reason I'm not anymore is cheer. I would be in front of the crowd doing dances and cheers. I loved it. Then I started stunting, I loved that even more. Flying has always been really fun, even with how stressful and scary it can be.

I started doing competitive cheer in seventh grade, it is now my favorite type of cheer. It's all stunting and tumbling. Basketball cheer is also really fun. It incorporates a lot of what competitive cheer is with the routines you get to compete with at state and regions. Doing all the crowd cheers and having the screaming fans is always crazy.

I love to cheer.

Prison Poetry

The Dammed

At the age of twenty
body still soft with adolescence
he stands in a steel mesh case
alone; he stands in his underwear
still wet from a brief cold shower
to wash the pepper spray
from eyes and skin. His head
is freshly shaved
pale and patchy with stubble
like dirty marble; he laughs
while another man bleeds
cleans blood from a plastic gurney
and cold naked concrete
while other prisoners sit
in he uncertain, sweltering heat;
he laughs
while black-winged kites
circle the open pit
where guards still,
and somewhere manicured fingers
rifle his paper life
damned in ink.

By Martin Williams

This poem came from the book titled More Poems.
I really like this poem in particular because it has such great imagery to it.

Now What?

Now that the semester is coming to a finish we are supposed to be thinking about what's going to happen next semester with another new teacher. Fortunately I think that this third new teacher of the year will be the smoothest transition.
The first day of the year isn't always simple, your trying to decide how much you like the teacher, the style of the class and how the year is going to go.
Our next new teacher wasn't brought in during the best time, everyone was mourning the loss. But now that we've had him for a majority of our year so far everyone has come to love him, his teaching style and endless amount of stories.
Lastly this teacher isn't being brought in because of an unfortunate situation, everyone is comfortable with the class and with him already being here for a week or two seeing how our class usually goes I think that this will be a fine way to finish out the year. Also like Mr. Good he isn't exactly new. Most people have had him before and it's not completely unfamiliar.
I feel prepared for our new teacher since he has been around our class and know's what he has been hired for. There isn't much else for us to do except finish out the year and see how things go in the mean time.

What I Learned

What have I learned in the past quarter? Well, it's not as much as what I've learned as what I've decided. My decision since October 15th is that Final Destination movies may have some truth to them. Life, death, it's inevitable. We don't control it, random sudden things can and will always happen to all of us, being of the good or bad variety.

Since we know we can't control every aspect of our lives, we really need to control the ones we can and live them to the fullest.

To live my life to the fullest I just always try and have fun. Don't do anything I find to extremely boring. I take all the opportunities I can and run with them. Just have a good time, do what you love. It's a good way to live.

Do you have extra money? Get married.

I think this video shows how much we put into the beginning of our lives with a person. We spend so much time and money just making our relationships official. I realize that the normal isn't quite this extreme but this is just a good example. Being romantic is one thing, but this guy takes it to another level.

The average wedding costs a couple 29,000.
Nearly 50% of marriages end in divorce.
The average cost of a divorce is 15,000.
